Food & History Walking Tours

Celebrate Christmas at Leadenhall Market with our iconic 18ft real tree featuring LED colour-changing lights, stunning baubles adorning ornate ceilings, fir garlands by Windsor Flowers on shopfronts and a magical twinkling light tunnel in Beehive Passage.⁣

Our 18 feet high real Christmas tree and twinkling light tunnel will be lighting up our beautiful Victorian covered market from 6am to 11.30pm every day throughout the season, until early January 2025.⁣

Creating the perfect pairing for our Spring series, a special Food & History Walking Tour- Beer, Bread and Beans! will take place, celebrating Leadenhall as a centre of eating and drinking over the centuries. From its Roman origins, through to the Middle ages, the cook shops that served up the first fast food via hot pies among other nutritional (and not so nutritional) delights, to some of Dickens’ favourite spots, these insightful tours demonstrate how Leadenhall and the City have evolved over time, always ensuring there’s food to suit all palates.

The Food & History Tours will run every Wednesday from 15th May – 12th June (inclusive) from 6.30pm – 8pm, hosted by City Walks London. Booking is essential and tickets can be purchased for £7 plus booking fee at Eventbrite.

In 2023, Leadenhall Market had an influx of new food and drink outlets, welcoming South American specialists Argentinian Grill, Lebanese favourites Baba Ganoush, British burgers with a side of hip hop, soul & funk at Boom Bap Burger, bar snacks and light bites from Golden Goose by One Circle, Danish coffee project Hagen, Japanese soul food with Rainbo and Taiwanese bubble tea experts Yi Fang.
