Leadenhall Market brings Festival Fun to the City of London this Summer!

In contrast to the City’s more traditional spirit, Leadenhall Market will be bringing unexpected festival flare to its Victorian surroundings this summer, with the help of the party-starting specialists The Provibers.

The Provibers – famous for their interactive experiences at Wilderness, Glastonbury Festival, Secret Garden Party and Standon Calling – will be joining Leadenhall Market to bring a light dusting of festival flavour and colour to the City, every week throughout August. Visitors can expect fancy dress fun, a modern spin on the old-fashioned classic of ‘Hook-a-duck’, a photo booth with a twist and plenty of opportunities to win prizes.

Open to all ages with no need to book, the summer fun begins on Wednesday 10 August and will be at Leadenhall Market every Wednesday afternoon from midday onwards.

For those wanting to discover more about the beautiful Victorian marketplace surrounded by a sea of City of London architecture, Leadenhall Market will also be running its popular guided walks in collaboration with City Guides every Wednesday evening at 6.30-8pm, from 3 August.

The summer guided walk will take visitors on a journey back to the market’s hugely significant time in Roman Londinium , through the Middle Ages when it became established as that most bohemian of places known as “The Great Shambles”, to its 19th century renaissance and current day purpose as a trading hub where people still buy, sell and meet. Tickets cost £7 plus a booking fee and can be purchased through Eventbrite here.

Outside of these weekly Wednesday events, the market’s 35 boutique shops, restaurants and bars will continue to be open throughout the summer, serving refreshing food & drink and all the latest seasonal fashion (check with individual outlets for opening times).
