Morph’s Epic Art Adventure

Leadenhall Market unveils rockstar Morph designed by McFly’s Tom Fletcher as part of the UK’s first step-free art trail

As Morph’s Epic Art Adventure in London launches, Leadenhall Market is hosting a rockstar Morph, designed by McFly’s lead singer, Tom Fletcher. The six foot sculpture forms part of the UK’s first step-free art trail, organised by the UK’s leading charity for young wheelchair users, Whizz-Kidz.

The pop-up trail is running from 19th June – 20th August with 70 super-sized sculptures of the much-loved children’s TV character, Morph appearing across the capital. Each sculpture has been uniquely designed by both well-known and emerging artists, to create a family-friendly art trail for Londoners and visitors to follow across the city.

Tom Fletcher’s rockstar Morph can be found in Leadenhall Market on Beehive Passage sporting a rock ‘n’ roll outfit including leather jacket, star shaped shades and a red guitar.

Tom Fletcher, Mcfly band member and Whizz Kidz ambassador said: “I was so excited to be asked to be involved in this morph project. Not only is Morph iconic and creative but this project is helping to raise awareness of inclusivity which is so important. Whizz Kidz is a charity very close to my heart, having been a patron for them for many years, and I’m so excited to see London flooded with such amazing designs and art this summer. My design, is a rock star Morph, having fun and jamming out to his favourite tunes which I hope that everyone likes it! It would be great to see as many people as possible visits the trial this summer and see which morph is your favourite!”

Morph’s Epic Art Adventure is not only a creative way to discover the iconic sites of London but it also aims to raise awareness about the need for young wheelchair users to be mobile, enabled and included in society. When the Trail ends, the super-sized Morph sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for Whizz-Kidz, with the aim of raising £500,000.
