What’s On
Romantic poetry trail for Londoners

We are spreading the love this Valentine’s Day with an interactiveromantic poetry walking experience for Londoners to enjoy as part of their daily exercise

City Of London

Paving the way with verse, you can take a walk around our special romantic route through the City, via its cobbled alleyways. Unused shops have been lit up red to symbolise passion, while QR codes displayed around the marketplace give access to readings of classic love poetry.

Our #LeadenhallLove campaign is here to remind Londoners that while the City remains in lockdown, during these difficult times, there is still – and always will be – love. The readings are intended to bring comfort and provide a mood boost for those out for their daily exercise.

To get involved with the romantic poetry trail, simply scan the QR codes dotted around the market and hear literary works by the likes of William Butler Yeats, Robert BurnsChristina Rossetti, and Shakespeare, beautifully recited by actors and members of the Leadenhall Market community, Charlie Carter and Frances Eva Lea.

If you’re not able to make it to the market, you can get a taster of the poetry below.
